Hatchet 3 film review (Decker Shado film review)
Wiki Article
Hatchet 3 was the film that was a horror in the Hatchet trilogy. It chronicles Victor Crowley's ongoing adventures through Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp, as in addition to his violent murderous rampage. Kane Hodder plays Victor Crowley and Brian Quinn is Deputy Winslow. Rileah Vanderbilt plays Misty.
The main strength of the movie lies in its practical special effects. In contrast to many contemporary horror films which rely heavily on CG effects, Hatchet 3 features mostly practical makeup effect and sets--resulting in some truly horrific scenes throughout the movie.
Kane Hodder is a standout among the cast, and he's an intimidating villain. The dialogue (blog) is so funny and cheeky that it can feel like a classic '80s horror film. There are some really funny moments that offer an entertaining contrast to the heart-wrenching violence.
Because the budget was $1 million, most places were reused from previous movies. The boat house that was used twice in the movie was a prime example. Much of this appears to be a re-use from other movies within the series. It can feel almost familiar to those who've watched Hatchet or Hatchet 2.
Overall, Hatchet 3 was an enjoyable show. I enjoyed the violent thrills it offered and the entertaining performances by the actors.
